ABOUT PETER

Peter Baert is a Belgian composer and recording artist working across film, documentary and his own work.

He scored The Water Man, the directorial debut of David Oyelowo, released worldwide on Netflix, and most recently contributed additional music to Newborn, directed by Nate Parker, premiering in Los Angeles in April 2026.

His earlier accolades include Façades, pre-selected for the European Composer Awards and nominated for an Ensor Award, and Breathless, winner of the Ensor Award for Best Documentary in 2018.

Before film, Baert released electronic albums under the name Petersonic, reviewed in The Wire and performed at Pukkelpop and Ancienne Belgique.

His next album as Peter Baert, This Fragile World, recorded with Echo Collective and the Budapest Orchestra and mastered at Abbey Road, will be released in September 2026.

He founded Raygun, his Brussels-based audio production house, nearly twenty years ago.

Baert is represented by the Gorfaine Schwartz Agency.

He is the proud father of three daughters.
