string trio “healing the heart”

STEP 1: PRE-COMPOSITION

  1. Why?

    1. When I started in September my schedule was pretty empty, however the past months have been very filled up.

      My time here is slowly coming to an end, I might enroll for another 4 months maybe later in the year, but begin of 26 is already filled with some projects.

      I’m very grateful for the insights of Saad, guidance of Theodore and feedback of all of you.

      However, I would like to end with a string trio work that I’m gonna record on Friday.

      The album that I’m gonna release in the new year “This Fragile World” is about my father, furthermore about the process of his passing. At the time it happened I recorded small miniatures of piano pieces, string pieces that I’m now finishing in an album called “This Fragile World”.

      The piece I’m presenting here is “Healing the Heart”.

      In a transformational program I did called Heartspace, I finally, 3 years after his passing, reconciled with my dad.

      I saw his talent, his love, also his flaws but there was an enormous amount of forgiveness.

      This piece, goed right to the heart, I’ve written it for a scene in a documentary but was myself so touched by it that I had to develop it.

  2. How? 

    1. I have booked Echo Collective (3 players V1,Va,Cl) to record some pieces of a documentary I’m finishing and I’m gonna take the remaining time to develop one of the pieces in a longer format, genre 4-5 min.

    2. The piece evolves around a 4 measure baseline that repeats, like time, it slowly goes on and doesn’t really care a lot about what’s happening around.

    3. With a pure string trio I want to achieve an emotional piece in the style of late Johann Johansson, the people I’m working with are the former live band of Johann.

      I’m gonna add some light electronic pad and I’ll have a shorter piano version on the album.

      This track will be the last track on the album.

  3. Instrumentation? 

    1. Pure 3 strings, very authentic

    2. Maybe add a electronic pad sound.

  4. Duration?

    1. I would aim for 4-5 minutes to start.
